About Me

Hi, I'm Lisa Murano and I write a blog called Murano Chicken Farm. I've been writing about chickens since 2010. Mostly I just write about caring for a small flock of chickens in your own backyard. I've covered everything from feeding chickens, to treating injuries. I pretty much just write whatever comes up in my daily chicken life. It's a lot of fun for me to write it and about 150,000 people read the blog each month.

One day in June of 2017 I decided to write about how I hatch and sell chicks. I wrote a post called How I Make $1,000 A Month from 15 Chickens.

2 days later, that post blew up!

I mean, it went crazy in a way I've never seen before. Normally I get about 2,000 views in the first month of a new post. This post got 15,000 views its first week. By the end of the month it had almost 60,000 views! I was getting calls and emails for interviews and people started quoting me. It was surreal.

This went on for about 2 months before I finally had that lightbulb moment that you all see in cartoons. With all these people so interested in how to make money with chickens...I need to write a book!

My book, Making Money With Chickens was launched in time for black Friday 2017. The book is available on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback format.

I sell chicks from February to October every year. I meet with customers personally and often answer questions for customers long after they have taken their babies home, and now I sell books!

Profitable poultry

If you came here looking for information about how to make money from your chickens then you're in the right place. While chickens do get a bad rap for being expensive they don't have to be a money pit. In fact, they can start paying your bills with their eggs, feathers and more! If you have a flock of chickens, you are well aware of how expensive they can be. Have you ever considered making them pay their own way? Many years back I decided I needed a "no freeloaders" policy and since then, not only have the chickens paid their way, they've paid quite a few other bills as well! Profitable poultry In June of 2017 I wrote a post on my blog Murano Chicken Farm about making money selling chicks. My article:  How I make $1,000 a month with just 15 chickens  was a huge hit. That blog post had more views in the first weekend then my blog normally gets in a whole month! (make sure you read that post, it has tons of money making info!) I received so many ...
